הידע שנצבר בשנים ארוכות ומיקום המערות יצרו ביחד שורה של שילובים מעניינים. טיול גלילי הוא לא רק מסע בנוף נהדר. בטיול כזה אפשר לחלוף על פני שיח דוקרני וסבוך ולשים לב שיש חלל שחור ממש מתחת לשיח. מערה? צריך לבדוק. לפעמים הולכים במסלול הררי קשה, עוקפים סלע גדול - ויש מערה בצד השני. למקומות כאלה אפשר להגיע איתי, ללמוד את המערה ביחד, ולהקשיב לסיפורה. 

נגזרת מוכרת היטב מהנושא הזה הוא מנהג העלייה לקברי צדיקים. שורשי המנהג הזה נטועים בתרבות אבותינו שחיו כאן כמעט לפני 2000 שנה. בקונטקסט הזה צמחו הרבה סיפורים מרתקים על ניסים ונפלאות. את אלה יצרו אותם אנשים שהקשבה לסיפורי המערות אינה הצד החזק שלהם. אין זו סיבה שלא להקשיב גם להם. אבל גם המערות שהפכו לקברי צדיקים מספרות את סיפורן.

נגיע למערות, המוכרות יותר והמוכרות פחות. תוך המסעות האלה נתוודע לגבולות התפוצה היהודית בארץ, בתקופה הארוכה מאד, האפלה למדי, שבין המאה הרביעית עד תחילת הציונות המעשית. כן, המערות מעורבות אפילו בסיפור הלאומי-היסטורי שלנו.

Knowledge and locations create many interesting combinations. A Galilean tour is not only a voyage in wonderful landscape. During such a tour we might walk very close to thorny bush; beyond the complex of branches we may detect a black space. Is it a tomb? We can check it up. I was lucky to find a few tombs this way. Sometimes we walk along a difficult mountain path; we go around a large rock and suddenly we see a tomb on the other side. I can take you to such places; we will study the tomb together and listen to it's story. 

Jewish pilgrimage to Galilean Holy Tombs is well recorded for many centuries. The roots of this custom are palnted in our fathers' culture, wholived here almost 2000 years ago. This context nurished many stories about wonders and miracles. The people who created these stories (some still do today!) don't listen to the tombs' stories. Yet it's not a reason not to listen to these people as well, since these stories are also tombs stories, after all.

We will visit tombs, well known and less known. In the process we will get to know the boundaries of Jewish presence in the Galilee during the long, dark period between the 4th century CE and the begining of practical Zionism. Yes - the tombs have a part and play a certain role in our historical-national story.
